Individual Therapy

People seek out individual therapy for many different reasons, at different points in their lives. Individual therapy is a joint process that requires a trusting relationship between a trained clinician and a person in a safe, confidential environment. I offer treatment for those who are going through a difficult time and may be experiencing distress, negatives thoughts or feelings, or a change in functioning.

  • The first session will focus on information gathering and a discussion of concerns that brought you to therapy. During the next few sessions we will work on developing rapport and you will decide if my style is a good fit for your needs. Finding a therapist you are comfortable with and feel understood by is essential for successful treatment. During sessions issues and concerns in your life will be discussed and goals will be created and worked towards. At the beginning of therapy and sometimes throughout its course, the journey can feel scary or overwhelming, as you may experience difficult emotions and painful memories. This is part of the process of healing and change.
