My journey to become a sex therapist began by fusing my fascination with the diversity of human sexuality and my passion for providing sex positive support and information. Growing up some of my earliest memories include receiving messages from adults that sex, naked bodies, and sexuality are shameful and not something to be discussed. As I became older and educated myself about sex, I realized there was so much misinformation and myths being passed along as truth. This secrecy and misinformation about such an integral part of the human experience sparked my curiosity and hunger to learn more about sexuality as well as to share this information with others. My inquisitiveness and excitement to share knowledge and empowerment continues to this day. I strive to cultivate a safe space to discuss and normalize the vastness of human sexuality and sexual expression and support others to ultimately live more meaningful and pleasurable lives.

After completing a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Plattsburgh State University of New York as well as an internship at Planned Parenthood, where I became a Certified Rape Crisis Counselor, I enrolled in graduate school and earned a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Brooklyn College. Following acquirement of my clinical license in Mental Health Counseling, I pursued specialization in sex therapy and was trained as a Sex Therapist via the Modern Sex Therapy Institutes.

Before working in private practice, I completed several clinical internships, including providing therapy in a community based organization with individuals of Haitian ancestry who had been diagnosed with HIV/AIDS. I have also worked at a Tier I Emergency Domestic Violence Shelter based in Manhattan for 7 years and held positions as Trauma Specialist, Clinical Supervisor, and Director. For the last 15 years I have continued to volunteer on Planned Parenthood’s Sexual Assault Services Hotline. Through my various roles, positions, and experiences, I have developed a culturally sensitive practice that celebrates humans from all walks of live and honors the journey that led them to become the unique individual they are today.

I am LGBTQIAP2+, GNC, NB, Kink/BDSM, SW, and CNM/Poly/RA affirming and competent and use a collaborative approach to build a genuine working relationship with clients. I am an integrative therapist and in my current work I draw from a variety of methodologies and techniques to best meet the needs of each person I work with. I personalize my approach using a combination of Narrative Therapy, Feminist Theory, Emotion Focused Therapy, Humanistic Theory, Person Centered Therapy, Psychodynamic Theory, Attachment Theory, mindfulness, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to support those who are looking to increase awareness about needs and emotions and/or are seeking deeper meaning and satisfaction in their lives and relationships. I believe in the transformative power of human sexuality, intimacy, and touch and work within a relational, trauma-informed,  pleasure-oriented, anti-racist, anti-oppressive, sex positive, and intersectional framework. During our work together, we will safely explore fears, concerns, shame, and desires as well as identify areas you would like to focus on in order to gain a deeper understanding of yourself and your relationship with others.

We all have a story, of who we are and how we fit into the world. I welcome the opportunity to assist you in writing a new chapter.
